CAREL, the first company in Europe
to begin designing and producing a microprocessor controller for precision air
conditioners, has won the 2008 Mediobanca Prize, one of the most important
prizes in Italy
awarded to the most dynamic businesses that stand out for high growth and good
profitability.
The awards were made on the
basis of reviews of the results and profiles of the companies compiled by the
Research Department of Mediobanca, which carried out indepth analysis, in
conjunction with the companies themselves, of their respective organizational
structures, governance, market positions and competitive advantages. Following the
first stage of selection a total of 27 companies were identified and 13 were
then admitted to the two short lists (four for the junior category and nine for
the senior category) and reviewed by the technical committee. Carel was awarded
the first prize in the senior category (more than 499 employees), reveals the
companys press release.
With its registered office at Brugine, in the province of Padua,
CAREL had a turnover of 95m in 2006, up 47.2% vs 2003, with just under 700
staff on the books. Further growth was recorded in 2007 by this company
operating in the refrigeration, air conditioning and humidification sector. The
prizes will shortly be awarded by the Chairman of the Management Board and
Chief Executive Officer of Mediobanca at a conference during which the senior
management of the two companies will present their respective business
histories. |
