Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chairman of the U.S. Green
Building Council (USGBC), and Valentine Lehr, senior partner, Lehr Consultants
International, will be keynote speakers at the opening plenary for the 10th Global Engineering
Conference sponsored by Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp.,
and HPAC Engineering magazine. The conference will take place April 9-11, 2008,
at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Carrier is thrilled to
have Rick and Val as keynote speakers at the 10th Global Engineering
Conference, noted Kelly Romano, president of Carrier Building Systems and
Services. Carrier and United Technologies have long been supporters of the U.S
Green Building Council and we are excited to extend the synergy through this
event. Attended by global consulting and design engineers, the conference will
focus on new technology and engineering topics in the heating, ventilation and
air-conditioning (HVAC) industry.
The theme of the 10th Global Engineering Conference is designing and
building for sustainability, with the goals of reducing environmental impact
through reducing the consumption of non-renewable natural resources and by
minimizing waste, and creating healthy, productive environments. Speakers will
discuss finding solutions that provide environmental, societal, and human
benefits while reducing construction and operating cost, reveals the
organizers press release. The solutions consider all
project aspects including planning, design, construction, operation and
decommissioning.
