Friday, 04 April 2008

Niagara Blower Company, a provider of engineered solutions to heat transfer applications at power, process, refinery, food and beverage facilities worldwide since 1904, has acquired the assets of Kathabar from Ross Air Systems.

Niagara’s customized product lines include closed-loop evaporative Wet Surface Air Coolers (WSAC) and “No-Frost” liquid desiccant dehumidification systems. Located in Somerset, New Jersey, Kathabar designs and manufactures dehumidification and air treatment systems for the pharmaceutical, gelatin and food & beverage industries. The newly formed subsidiary will be called Kathabar Dehumidification Systems (KDS).

According to the company’s press release, Peter Demakos, P.E., Niagara President, stated: “Kathabar is a well known, well respected company and will increase Niagara’s potential customer base to provide a wider range of temperature and humidity applications.  Kathabar, as a compliment to our ‘No-Frost’ refrigeration systems, will make Niagara one of the largest liquid desiccant dehumidification system manufacturers in North America.  In addition, Kathabar’s extensive sales representation will expand our opportunities in international markets.”
