Organised by Fira de Barcelona, InstalMat will take place
from the 14th to the 17th of May 2008 in pavilion 1 of the Gran Via exhibition
centre. Around 200 national and
foreign exhibitors are expected to participate. Exhibits will be divided into
12 sectors: air conditioning, heating, water, gas, electricity, home
automation, telecommunications, renewable energies, safety, regulation and
control, attachment tools, and services.
Over
10,000 professionals are expected to visit this first show, which has the
cooperation of the National Confederation of Plumbing, Gas, Heating, Air
Conditioning, Fire Protection, Electricity and Similar Companies Associations (CONAIF),
among others. The show also has the support of, for example, the Energy, Air
Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians Catalan Association (ACTECIR). The director of InstalMat, Carlos Arnoult, said:
"Companies have received this new trade show concept very well, especially
those which consider that in the next few years replacement, maintenance and
rehabilitation will account for a large part of its turnover."
In addition to being a commercial platform, InstalMAT aims to be a forum for
know-how, debate and reflection, with a full programme of technical sessions
which will be divided into three main theme blocks: home automation, new
regulations and energy efficiency. According to the organizers press release, the
sessions are organised in association with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism
and Trades Energy Diversity and Savings Institute (IDAE) and the Catalan
Generalitats Energy Institute (ICAEN). The
show will also provide the setting for the general assembly of CONAIF, which
will take place on Friday, 16th of May.
