ClimaCheck, the pioneering
Swedish-designed refrigeration and air conditioning performance evaluation tool,
has won a national award for excellence at the ACR News Awards, held last month
in Birmingham. The
technology, developed by Swedish thermodynamics expert Klas Berglof, won the
title Refrigeration Product of the Year 2009, in competition with major
companies such as Foster, Bitzer and Emerson Climate Technologies.
The portable system enables engineers in the field to quickly determine
how well plant is performing, its actual COP, cooling and heating capacity,
power input and compressor isentropic efficiency.
According to the companys press release, ClimaCheck is able to identify
incipient faults by analysing trends in performance and anomalies in results.
Using this data, it is possible to identify problems that could result in plant
breakdown if left untreated. It can also be used with any refrigerant, and
specific templates are available to enable ClimaCheck to be used with different
systems configurations, including reverse cycle heat pumps and plant equipped
with economisers.
We were delighted to
receive such a high profile award and the recognition of the UK industry.
ClimaCheck has rapidly become accepted in the UK,
after being strongly championed by UK distributor Business Edge. It is
now being used by some of the UKs
leading end users and contractors, says Klas Berglof.
