According to JARN, state-of-the-art technologies utilizing electricity which is friendly to the environment gathered together during this event. The fair was held by the Energy Solution & Thermal Storage Fair Executive Committee, consisting of Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technology Center of Japan and the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan. The fair was segmented into the Air Conditioning/Water Heating Zone, Various Facilities Zone, Kitchen Zone and All-Electric Home Zone. In the Air Conditioning/Water Heating Zone, products such as high-efficiency heat pump chillers and commercial water heating systems were introduced.

Those which drew the attention of many visitors were Toshiba Carrier's super flex module chiller, Mitsubishi Electric Corp. (Melco's) 100-ton air-cooled screw chiller with COP of 9.0 at 0ºC, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI's) centrifugal chiller with the 'Micro-turbo' compressor using R410A. In front of MHI's chiller, a hermetic centrifugal compressor incorporated into the chiller was on display. This air-cooled centrifugal chiller using R410A has been developed by MHI jointly with Tokyo Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power and Kansai Electric Power. Having the rated COP of 5.0, this centrifugal chiller will be available up to 600-ton model as a heat pump.
