Daikin Europe announced its sales
results for financial year 2007 (1 April 2007 - 31 March 2008), which were
strong for all 4 product groups (air conditioning, applied systems, heating and
refrigeration), and across its 4 major sales areas: Europe (including Turkey)
was up 24% compared to the previous financial year, Russia plus the CIS
countries was up 67%, the Middle East grew by 68% and Africa by 30%.
An
exceptionally warm spring resulted in very strong residential air conditioning
sales during the 1st half of the 2007 financial year. Over the entire year,
residential units enjoyed growth of 30% over the previous financial year. Sales
of commercial air conditioning systems were robust throughout the territory,
with overall growth of 25% over last year. In the applied systems market, the
continued integration of the product range of McQuay chillers resulted in a
greatly expanded product portfolio for Daikin. Furthermore, important product
rollouts included the multiple-scroll compressor and the introduction of
centrifugal chillers to 9 MW, which opened doors to a number of large projects.
This strong product portfolio was reflected in a significant increase in the
number of units sold.
2007
also saw the continued success of Daikins energy efficient residential heating
solution, Altherma. The important milestone of 10,000 units sold was surpassed
in 2007. Highlights also included the introduction of higher capacity Altherma
models and the launch of an optional solar panel installation kit. Growth in
the heating segment was strongest in France,
followed by Scandinavia and Spain.
In the refrigeration sector, Conveni-pack, Daikins all-in-one convenient store
solution, was especially well received in the UK market. Success in the UK was
bolstered by the high level of support provided by the service network of
J&E Hall, an OYL company. In addition to this, the J&E Hall product
range allowed Daikin to come to the market with a bigger range than before,
reveals the companys press release.
