Danfoss announces new CEO PDF Print E-mail

The Danfoss Group’s President and CEO since 1996, Jørgen M. Clausen, has announced to the company Board that he wishes to retire from his position, with effect from October 1, 2008. The Board has taken note of Jørgen M. Clausen’s request and has appointed Niels B. Christiansen as new President and CEO, with effect from the same date.


“I consider it to be the best time to retire from the company's day-to-day operations and concentrate on my directorships, which include, not least, the chairmanship of Sauer-Danfoss and membership of the board of the Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation,” says Jørgen M. Clausen. Danfoss CEO anniversary sponsor conferenceThe new President and CEO, Niels B. Christiansen, joined Danfoss in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer and as a member of the Executive Committee. In May 2007 he was promoted to become the Vice-CEO. With effect from October 1, he will head the Executive Committee, which consists of the Executive Vice Presidents Kim Fausing (COO) and Frederik Lotz (CFO). Jørgen M. Clausen will retire from his position as President and CEO a few days after his 60th birthday, which will be celebrated in Danfoss on September 23. This on the same year that Danfoss celebrates its 75th Anniversary (1933-2008).

 

According to the company’s press release, Danfoss is also the main sponsor of the 8th IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Working Fluids, which will take place in Copenhagen on September 7th – 10th, 2008. The conference is dedicated to refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump applications using CO2, ammonia or flammable refrigerants. By sponsoring the conference, Danfoss underlines its leading role in this area.
