Pioneering HVACR
controls company, Resource Data Management (RDM),
has acquired a leading Taiwan-based component and electronics manufacturer. The
Taiwan-based company has recently invested in two new state-of-the-art,
rohs-compliant surface-mount electronics production machines, a new assembly
line and a plastic moulding and enclosure design facility.
Andy Chandler,
RDM managing director, said: We are delighted with the acquisition of FYC Co
Ltd. The deal secures a high quality, cost-effective manufacturing capability
for RDMs expanding range of controls for the future. He added: We have
worked closely with the company in the past, and their approach and
professionalism are second-to-none. We will be co-operating with them on the
development of a new generation of controls and related products, that
significantly extend our range. Following the move, in future all RDM products
and software will be designed and developed in the UK,
with manufacture carried out in Taiwan.
The purchase
follows a recent major development of RDMs Glasgow headquarters site, reveals the
companys press release. This included the expansion of its 24-7 monitoring bureau,
and creation of enlarged research and development facilities. Meanwhile, in the
past month the company has completed the installation of two wind turbines at
its headquarters. When fully operational, they will supply more than two-thirds
of the businesses power needs. The new wind turbine installation will make a
significant contribution to reducing the environmental impact of our energy
use, and importantly help us further develop systems to interface with and
monitor alternative energy sources, stated Chandler.
