Konvekta introduces lightweight air conditioning units for buses The Konvekta AG from Schwalmstadt in Germany, developer and manufacturer of the most lightweight air conditioning unit for buses worldwide, recently announced that the new production line “UL” (Ultra Light) will be delivered in series to well-known European manufacturers as from August 2009. What was presented as a brand-new and highly innovative novelty in the scope of air conditioning units for buses last year at the IAA Commercial Vehicles, met with the approval of the bus manufacturers.

According to the company’s press release, the new air conditioning units have ingenious design and well-thought-out construction which were combined uncompromisingly with the aims of weight- and noise reduction (by 5dBA) in using latest materials with optimal characteristics. In addition, the air conditioning unit is based on a simple, easy to install, modular construction system.

Additionally, the material and all installed components are completely recyclable and as from the year 2010, the air conditioning units will also be available with CO2 as a refrigerant.
