Monodraught
wind catchers have been installed on a building situated by an
airport to provide natural ventilation and noise reduction and to
facilitate air movement and cooling.
Stockport
Academy, located beneath the flight path to Manchester airport is
benefiting from acoustic insulation and continual air flow through
Monodraught's automated facades.
Monodraught
windcatchers
were specified to provide natural ventilation in the main hall and
sports hall areas which contained a limited size and number of
windows due to security, glare and internal noise transmission
issues. According to Monodraught, windcatchers catch the wind from
any direction and enable secure cooling throughout the night. In
addition, the windcatchers contain a series of external louvers
linked to quadrants and internal turning vanes, capture external air
and bring it down via a damper system that controls the rate of flow.
