Thermo King, the world’s leading provider of refrigerated transport solutions, recently announced the appointment of Johan Van Maercke to the position of Vice President of Transport Solutions and Strategic Development. The new role combines Johan’s previous position as Vice President of Strategic Development with leadership over the Transport Solutions business for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

According to Thermo King’s press release, Johan will now oversee the entire Sales and Service Division, which includes a dedicated Technical Service team, a Customer Service team and the Warranty team. He will also work closely together with the Marketing & Engineering, Channel Development, Aftermarket Development and Manufacturing teams.

“Above all, in these difficult times, we need to ensure that we continue to support our dealer network and our end customers. In the medium term, I intend to increase the strength of our dealer network and the consistency of service that they deliver. I would also like to focus on improving the level of service across all geographical locations, to ensure a consistent quality is achieved”, said Johan Van Maercke, adding that Thermo King will continue to look for ways to improve its dealer network, as well as products and services, including for the aftermarket.

“We will equally provide more and better first class training for our sales and service people, both in our dealerships and in our own team. This will help us to provide the right products and solutions for the specific applications our customers require and fulfil their needs during the entire lifecycle of our products”, said Johan. “It enables our organization and the dealers to provide more and better user training”.
