Despite a depressed economy, the Linde Gases Division of The Linde Group closed 2009 with more than 6GWp of production capacity across its global photovoltaic (PV) customer base.  

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Manitowoc Foodservice as a 2010 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and helping to educate consumers about those products. Manitowoc Foodservice’s accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 18, 2010.

SPX Corporation recently announced that it has completed the acquisition of Gerstenberg Schröder A/S, a leading designer, manufacturer, installer and servicer of processing systems and components serving the global food industry. Gerstenberg Schröder will operate within SPX's Flow Technology segment. 

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, recently announced it will acquire 100 percent of the shares in Jokab Safety International AB to strengthen ABB’s offering within machine safety and low-voltage products. The transaction is expected to be completed in March.  

Vaisala, a global leader in environmental and industrial measurement and a pioneer in its field, recently acquired the U.S. based Quixote Transportation Technologies, Inc. (QTT) in late December 2009 to grow its presence in the global road weather and information technology business. These consolidation activities are planned to be completed by October 2010.
