Star Refrigeration has appointed Andy Butler as the new Retail Market Manager to further develop environmentally conscious cooling systems for the UKs major multiples. Andy Butler is now driving the specification and sale of Star products, as well as the development of innovative new technology for the retail sector. This includes the application of carbon dioxide (CO2) cooling to dramatically reduce the impact on global warming.
Based at Stars head office in Glasgow, Butler will be working with leading UK supermarket chains on the application of CO2 in a retail environment. This includes transcritical and cascade cooling systems, food and drink display cases (frozen and chill cabinets), air handling units and heat pumps.
To be part of such a highly qualified and competent team has been an aspiration for many years and so I am delighted that a personal goal has been achieved, said Andy Butler. By investing in CO2 cooling, retailers are able to significantly reduce levels of HFC refrigerant within their estate or eliminate them altogether. Stars innovative systems have shown a reduction in energy consumption due to the thermodynamic and physical properties of CO2. This has a dramatic affect on carbon footprint through reduced emissions of carbon and high global warming refrigerants. |
