The 3rd European BlowerDoor Symposium,
which takes place on May 30th- 31st, 2008, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, Kassel (Germany),
will include an exhibition and a manufacturers session and will deal with the
ascertainment of the building stock, with detailed planning and the professional
and durable production of the airtight envelope, the quality assurance at the
building and a stronger interlocking between civil engineering and building
services. The air-tightness of ventilation systems and the avoidance of mould
will also be discussed.
It is organized by the Energie- und Umweltzentrum am Deister e.u.[z.]
(Deister Energy and Environment Centre) and co-organised by the Verband für
Wohnungslüftung e. V. (Dwelling Ventilation Association) and the Verband für
Angewandte Thermografie e. V. (Applied Thermography Association). As with the
first two symposiums, within the community of people working in the building
sector in Europe there is much to learn from
each other, since the countries pursue different approaches with the individual
topics and worked out the topics in different depth. A transnational exchange
of experience shall continue and will weave the network of the participants
more closely and more firmly.
The conference is integrated into the European Union project ASIEPI
(Assessment and Improvement of the EPBD Impact) and is aimed at architects,
craftsmen, blower door users, thermographers, building experts, contractors,
energy consultants, scientists, researchers, advisers, planners or
decision-makers in the construction-related authorities. According to the
organizers press release, the symposium will cover the following subjects: air-tightness
examination methods for quality assurance, measurement, concepts and durable
links in new and existing buildings, effects of insufficient air-tightness, air-tightness
and economy, mechanical ventilation in residential buildings, mould, current
standards and directives, technical regulations and legal aspects.
