CholodExpo 2008 offers opportunities in Russian winter sports refrigeration projects |

CholodExpo Rossija, which will be taking
place in Moscow
on February 19th 21st, 2008, offers access to large investments in
nationwide winter sports projects, such as
the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The Russian town of Sotchi,
a Black Sea spa with 330,000 inhabitants, was
appointed to organize this important event and all sports facilities and
infrastructure must first be built.
According
to estimates by the Russian Ministry of Economic Affairs, 230 agreements and
declarations of intent for new projects worth a total of 23.2 billion US$
were signed at the international 2007 Sotchi Investment Forum. Investments
are also planned for sport projects in other regions of Russia in the coming
years for example, ice sport arenas are to be built in Toljatti in the Samara
region (investment volume: 35 to 40 million US$) and in the
Nischni-Nowgorod region (investment volume: 50 to 60 million US$). The
large upcoming projects in Russia
offer attractive prospects especially for the European refrigeration
industry.
According to the expo organizerss press release,
the conference at CholodExpo Rossija is also partly concerned with sport the
agenda includes international standards for the construction of ice arenas and
the evaluation criteria for the design and operation of sports facilities.
