DuPont Engineering Polymers recently
announced price increases for thermoplastic resins in North and South America,
Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region due to the magnitude of
the raw material and energy cost increases versus the previous year, coupled
with strong demand for products and customer-driven innovation in the form of
new products, technologies and application development capabilities worldwide. According
to the companys press release, standard thermoplastic resin grades will
increase as follows: DuPont Zytel nylon and DuPont Minlon ($0.12/lb, Americas;
$0.25/kg, Asia Pacific; 0,13 /kg, Europe), DuPont Crastin PBT ($0.12/lb,
Americas; $0.25/kg, Asia Pacific; 0,13 /kg, Europe), DuPont Delrin ($0.10/lb,
Americas; $0.20/kg, Asia Pacific; 0,13 /kg, Europe), DuPont Hytrel ($0.15/lb,
Americas; $0.25/kg, Asia Pacific; 0.20 /kg, Europe), DuPont Zytel HTN, DuPont Rynite
PET, DuPont Zenite LCP and DuPont Thermx ($0.12/lb, Americas; $0.25/kg, Asia
Pacific; 0,13 /kg, Europe). These products serve global markets in the
aerospace, appliance, automotive, consumer, electrical, electronic, industrial,
