GEA Batignolles Technologies
Thermiques, a company of GEAs
Energy Technology Division, recently opened a new manufacturing site in Qatar.
At the Doha factory, some 60 employees produce Air Fin Coolers and Air
Cooled Condensers for the oil, gas and petrochemical industry in the Middle
East. Due to the water scarcity in the area, Air Cooling is the method of
choice for many oil and gas processes.
The trends towards the investment in downstream processes like refineries, GTL
plants and advanced gas processing and petrochemical plants in the Middle East
have created a sustainable market for Air Fin Coolers in this region. This local production plant increases the companys proximity to the
customer, improves its servicing product, and significantly reduces transaction
costs. Following the last plant opening in Shanghai in September, this
production plant provides further proof of the intention of the GEA Group to
invest in high-growth regions, and to be present with its own production
locations.
"By adding this new plant to the global manufacturing network of GEAs
Energy Technology Division, GEA further strengthens its leading position in the
field of industrial Air Cooling" said Dr. Helmut Schmale, President of the
Energy Technology Division at the grand opening ceremony in Doha. Besides Qatar, GEA's
Energy Technology Division also has operations at 15 further locations in Asia,
Europe, the US and South Africa,
reveals the companys press release. |
