Earthcare Products
seeks to raise £1.95 million in return for 50% of the shares in a new
intellectual property company to be set up for the specific purpose of
exploiting the commercial potential from the intellectual property that will be
transferred from Earthcare to the new company. Earthcare holds patents which
could achieve more than a 13% reduction in global warming, by introducing disruptive
technologies to the global refrigerant market. Indeed, whilst the rest of the
refrigeration industry has been focused on low pressure gases, Earthcare has
developed high pressure alternatives resulting in more compact designs and
higher efficiencies.
According to the companys press release, it plans to license its patents to
existing refrigerant manufacturers, alternative feedstock producers, blenders
and distributors on a regional basis. Initial manufacture will be kept under
control with different subcontractors achieving a 25% profit margin. After establishing sales in UK and European markets,
talks may be held with majors such as Honeywell or DuPont for US or Australian sales.
Although it is planned to control blending in the UK initially, as volumes grow
it is intended to find local custom blenders who can blend and package for the
local markets.
