MosBuild, Russias largest trade event, opens on 31 March
2009 for four days of business. The event covers all sectors of the building
and interiors trade and takes place in Moscows
two largest exhibition centres, Expocentr and Crocus Expo. In 2008, the
exhibition covered over 90,000 net sqm and demonstrated products and services
provided by 2,751 exhibitors from 43 countries. Russia features prominently in the
export plans for many countries around the world and, to support their
strategy, ten countries presented national group stands. Visitors numbered
80,100, 97% of whom were trade visitors. The continued growth of the event is a
testament to its reputation and effectiveness. Compared to 2008, like-for-like
sales are up by 2% and over 80,000
m² of the exhibitions floor space has already been sold,
reveals the organizers press release.
Darryl Pawsey, Director for the Build & Interiors Division at ITE, highlights
the significance of this development: Our exhibitors are giving a clear
indication of their expectations for the Russian market over the next few
years. The latest market figures show a predicted increase of more than 7% in Russias GDP,
which is an extremely positive result compared to most major world economies.
MosBuild is the
collective name for a series of six exhibitions that focus on specific parts of
the industry: Buildex, Cersanex, MosInteriors, CountryLiving, Stonex and WinTec
Expo. Pawsey said: With over 90% of the event space already sold, we are
confident that the 2009 event will be another great success!
