Klima-Therm, the Wimbledon-based air conditioning specialist, has launched a new inspection service, headed by Gareth Stott, a fully accredited EPBD air conditioning inspector, enabling building owners to meet the mandatory requirements under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).
Inspections are mandatory for all air conditioning systems with rated cooling output greater than 12kW. Under the requirements, air conditioning systems with an output capacity of more than 250kW must be inspected by 4 January, or building owners may be subject to a fine.
An important part of the inspection report covers recommendations for improving the efficiency of air conditioning systems. Given the high cost of energy, and the fact that energy costs are expected to rise year-on-year for the foreseeable future, it makes absolute sense to improve performance and efficiency, said Gareth Stott. |
