ZAO Conditioner, a Russian manufacturer of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment, recently developed a thermoelectric air-conditioner to be installed in transport vehicles, particularly in armored vehicles and modern tractors.
According to ZAO, the thermoelectric unit doesnt contain any refrigerant or compressor and its effect is based on the so called Peltier principle, when electric current passes among the thermoelectric junction of two different special conductors, one of them is cooled and another is heated.
The fact that this unit is free from refrigerant and compressor allows the thermoelectric conditioner to be operated under very high ambient temperatures and extra-high impact and mechanical stresses. In addition, it also features a sprayed-silver-coating serves as the bacterial defense. The air-conditioner can be easy inspected and repaired on field site. |
