Carmel's HVAC load calculation program now works with Autodesk and Revit's software PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 February 2007
carmelBoth of Carmel Software's HVAC load calculation software programs (Loadsoft 6.0 and Residential 5.0) now work with the latest versions of Autodesk Building Systems (ABS 2007) and Revit 9.0. ABS and Revit are software tools that provide integrated AutoCAD-based building systems design and analysis.
Think of it as AutoCAD for engineers, allowing them to do HVAC duct and piping design and analysis as opposed to just drafting, explains Carmel in a press release.

A user can quickly import into Loadsoft and Residential the building information from the ABS or Revit drawing, including room dimensions, number of people and much more. This eliminates the tedious process of manually inputting this information... a process that often takes many hours for large buildings. Another benefit is that all of the cooling and heating load results can be exported back to ABS and Revit to aid in duct and piping design.

"We are excited that our load calculation software is able to communicate with Autodesk Building Systems 2007 and Revit 9.0. These are such powerful tools offered by Autodesk for HVAC engineers, and our software further enhances these tools by offering HVAC load calculation functionality, " explains Stephen Roth, P.E., Principal of Carmel Software.
