European Comission determines Danish exception for the F-Gas Regulation PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 13 February 2007
european comissionThe European Comission has recently decided in favour of the recognition of the Danish exception within the framework of the F-Gas Regulation, which becomes effective from the 4th of July 2007, reports the website of AFCE (the French Alliance for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Environment).
Denmark was notified in June 2006 because of the specific measures adopted in July 2002 regarding three gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol (HFC, PFC and SF6).

The interdiction to import materials which include these gases comprise numerous exceptions in order to avoid distorsions by the competition.
The Comission decided that the measures adopted are justified by the protection of the environment and the health and considered the existing replacement solutions, which are technical and financially sustainable. The Comission also decided that these measures aren't obstacles to futur changes in the European market.

This exception, according with the regulation 842/2006 which predicts for Austria and Denmark stricter measures, is valid until the 31st of December 2012.
