Ooms Avenhorn Holding, the
first company in the world to extract energy from asphalt concrete for use in
heating/cooling building, recently announced it would like to get in touch with
companies outside the Netherlands
who are interested in entering into a license agreement for Road Energy
Systems.
Developed in collaboration with WTH and TipSpit in 1998, Road Energy
Systems extracts energy from asphalt concrete by exploiting its heat-absorbing
capacity, which is enhanced by its black color. The thermal energy produced is used to cool buildings, houses and roads
in summer and heat them in winter. Research has shown that Road Energy Systems cuts
CO2 emissions by 50% compared to conventional heating systems
Ooms Avenhorn Holding has already executed several projects with Road
Energy Systems in the Netherlands
and abroad, and it also has several projects in preparation in the Netherlands and the UK for 2008, reveals the companys
press release. A. H. de Bondt, Road Energy Systems Export Strategy Coordinator,
Ooms Avenhorn, said: Possible licensees could include companies such as civil
engineering contractors, mechanical engineering contractors/suppliers, floor
heating installers/suppliers and/or utility companies. |
