Trimble, a leading innovator of
productivity solutions for building construction contractor, recently announced
at AHR Expo 2008 the new Trimble MEP layout solution for the mechanical,
electrical and plumbing trades. This allows mechanical, electrical and plumbing
contractors to take even more control of their construction layout.
 Mechanical,
electrical and plumbing contractors are dealing with increasingly complex
designs and more demanding schedules. Trimble MEP is a new software solution
designed specifically for mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors.
Using Trimble MEP, contractors can take a digital CAD design file or 3D
Building Information Model (BIM) into the field to simplify the layout of
conduit, pipe, duct and cable trays. The Trimble MEP solution increases the
contractor's productivity by reducing rework by facilitating faster, easier and
more accurate layout. It is used with the Trimble SPS610 Robotic Total Station
to provide precise positioning on the job site. Trimble MEP enables one person
to handle layout whether on the floor, the wall, the top of the deck or
directly on the underside of the deck. Conventional layout methods using tapes
are no longer needed.
Bringing Trimble's Connected Site construction solutions to the mechanical,
electrical and plumbing trades, the Trimble MEP features real-time transfer of
design data and daily progress updates using wireless communications between
the office and field, minimizing the time spent traveling to and from the job
site. The Trimble MEP layout solution is expected to be
available in the first quarter of 2008 through channels serving the mechanical and
HVAC markets, reveals the companys press release. |
