New European regulation for sandwich panels obligatory from 2010 |

APIPÑA, the Spanish Association of Polyurethane Injected Panels Manufacturers,
is to issue the new obligatory application of the new sandwich panels CE mark. The main goal of this new
EN14509: 2006/AC: 2008 regulation is based on eliminating the barriers created
by different methodologies from each country. In addition, it will guarantee
high levels of security in the properties declaration by manufacturers.
From October 1st,
2010, all the sandwich panels commercialized in Spain and in the rest of European
Union Countries will have to take the CE
mark. As part of formation on the new regulation, APIP'ÑA has given a
workshop in the Technological
Research Center,
CIDEMCO, on the CE mark. Right now, there is a coexistence period until the
requirement is introduced in the market.
According to APIP'ÑAs press
release, before these regulation changes, the associations main goal is to
foment the continuous improvement of the polyurethane injected sandwich panels,
in defence of the thermal, hygienic and environmental benefits, as well as the
ones related to the security of the constructions with sandwich panels. |
