Air temperature definition, cooler 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi All, I am new to the forum and I would like to ask you a clarification:
I am dealing, for job issues, with different calculation softwares for calculating coolers, some from European producers and some from US producers.

My question is:
In some of them I find the definition of in some others I find .
Apparently there would not be difference between the two, but, once calculating, I got models with lower surface and lower volume – therefore with a smaller model I can get the same capacity with same refrigerant and air velocity conditions.

I suppose that the heat exchange works in the same manner in the whole world therefore I am asking the reason of this difference.

Have you had the same experiences like mines ?
Anybody of you has faced to this ?
Is a definition of the two terms ?

Thank you.

welcome aboard PaulL,

Now mind you, I'm replying from a purely practical point of view.

There are several factor to consider regarding the functioning of lower surface/volume models versus larger s/v. Factor like the helicoidal internal case for increasing the refrigerant fluid velocity, aluminium fins with different layouts to increase the heat exchange, better copper or aluminium quality or even thickness. Small details like this play an important role in the functioning of the machine, therefore the surface/volume - capacity is nor always very clear until you check all the details of the model.

Many Thanks For your Answer MrFreeze,

nevertheless, if I can send you a PM, you'll see that the same model has got different capacities in US and Europe !

Thanks

sure, I'll take a look at, and I'll show them to some of the guys here at the office.

P.S. i don't think theres a PM service on this system, so i guess you'll have to post it here and edit (delete) the models later if you want.
