This years edition of the Technical Meeting Solar
Food Processing will be held on 30th May at Instituto Superior de Engenharia, Universidade do Algarve, Portugal, and will be
presented and discussed by experts in solar cooking industry. This meeting is
well know as an international meeting and was presented as the International
Solar Cookers and Solar Food Processing Conference in Granada
(Spain) and the
International Solar Food Processing Conference 2009 in Indore,
(India).
According to the press release, the meeting on 30th May 2009 in Faro-Algarve
(Portugal) aims to share technologies, concepts and strategies of using the sun
as a main energy supply for food processing and to share knowledge and form
collaborations to widen the access to solar cooking, water purification and
related solar food processing applications, since it plays an important role in
reducing health and environmental hazards and poverty and improving local
economic opportunities by implementation of technologies for food processing
and conservation through solar energy.
Successes and hindrances in
practice examples of cooperation and networking will be presented by invited
experts having large practical experience in the field. In addition, pioneered
solar steam kitchens in India
cooking for thousands of people daily and solar thermal power plants using
Scheffler reflectors will be presented. The integration of storage energy and
