Hosted by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) and AIRAH, the three-day IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference on Natural Working Fluids, to be held in Sydney from April 12-14 2010, announced Norway’s Petter Nekså and Macedonia’s Risto Ciconkov as keynote speakers for the ninth IIR Gustav Lorentzen Conference. 

Nekså is a senior research scientist at SINTEF Energy Research in Trondheim, Norway. He will lift the lid on the subject of CO₂ as a refrigerant and discuss its future potential and challenges. Ciconkov will deliver a talk on the subject of natural refrigerants in developing countries. He will explore why natural refrigerants are used in only a very small number of applications in developing countries, and propose some solutions for improving the situation.
