Friday, 05 March 2010

m&e sustainabilityM&E Sustainability, a joint venture between the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) and the Heating and Ventilating Contractors’ Association (HVCA), has published expert guidance for both clients and building services engineering contractors, on the achievement of carbon reduction in large public and commercial organizations.

The guide entitled Getting the Most from the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme was specially designed to help organizations to understand the implications, and to prepare for the introduction, of the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), the phased implementation of which is scheduled to begin in April 2010. The guide is available as a free download from the M&E Sustainability website at www.mech-elec.org.uk.

In addition to offering an overview of the CRC and its scope, the guidance provides practical advice to contractors, building owners and users on monitoring and reducing energy usage, and on achieving commitment from all stakeholders, including staff, to an energy-saving culture.
