RSES announced that Patrick L. Murphy, CM, has joined the staff as its Director of Training and Testing. An RSES Certificate Member since 2001, he brings more than 40 years of experience in HVACR service, contracting, education, accreditation and certification, as well as extensive knowledge of the state of workforce development in the HVACR industry.

“We are very excited to add such a highly respected individual of Pat’s caliber to the RSES staff,” said RSES Executive Vice President Mark Lowry. “His knowledge of technician certification, educational programs, ANSI processes, third-party accreditation, and more are a unique blend of expertise from which RSES members will surely benefit.”

Murphy will work with RSES staff, volunteer leaders and industry experts to develop education and training programs on all levels across the multiple sectors addressed in RSES’ many print-based, electronic and live-instruction activities. In addition, improving the scope and delivery mechanisms of the Society’s many testing programs — EPA Section 608, training course completion, Certificate Member (CM), Certificate Member Specialist (CMS) and Active Specialized Member (SM) credentials — are priorities for Murphy as well.

“Education and training are the cornerstones for developing better technicians,” said Murphy. “I am pleased to contribute to the long-standing legacy of excellent education RSES provides, and help improve the overall state of technical competency for the entire HVACR industry.”
