In the III Edition of Solar Week, which in Spain will be held from 17 to 23 May, more than 15 000 events were organized in 16 different countries with the aim of promoting solar energy and develop an awareness of society about the value renewable energies bring to our lives.

Only in Spain, from all the autonomous communities, were organized over 100 activities with the sun as the star. The Association of Solar Thermal Industry (ASIT), the Photovoltaic Industry Association (ASIF) and the Association of Solar Energy Thermal High Concentration (Protermosolar), together with the Institute for Energy Diversification (IDEA), are promoting the organization of this competition, developed by Intelligent Energy Europe Programme. General Cable, Junkers, Krannich Solar España and Schüco are the sponsoring companies.
