The European Cold Chain Education Program is an annual, two-day event designed to provide parti-cipants with insight in the latest developments in the refrigerated warehousing, cold storage and distribution industry. At the same time, the aim is to demonstrate ways of implementing new ideas, knowledge or technology in daily operational activities. This year, the event will be held from the 5th to the 6th of February in Amsterdam, Netherlands, informs IARW/WFLO European Division's Newsletter.
The first day is a seminar which focuses on strategic subjects. The second day consists of an interactive half-day workshop with attention for operational issues and a facility visit. Furthermore, the program features a spouse program, sightseeing tours, and an industry dinner.
Some of the event's main subjects and speakers will be:
- "Have consumers lost interest in frozen food?", by Alf Carr, British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF);
- "Material handling evolution for the refrigerated warehouse; thoughts, theories, and technologies for the next generation of warehouses and cold stores", by Thomas Berger, Daifuku America Corporation;
- "Refrigeration technology and refrigerants after 2010", by Robert Heap, International Institute of Refrigeration. |
