IES will be present
at Ecobuild 2008, which takes place at Earls Court, London,
on February 26th-28th. There it will exhibit new EPC creation capabilities
(stand E480) and present a seminar on High Performance Buildings on February
27th. IESs software enables the design of truly sustainable low-energy
buildings.
Its Virtual Environment suite empowers architects and engineers by acting as a
comparative calculator of the performance of the design, allowing them to
draw conclusions on energy use, CO2 emissions, occupant comfort, Part L
compliance, BREEAM credits, and EPC ratings, and use these results to make
informed design decisions. Designers
can opt to use the companys software themselves or employ the world-wide
expertise of IES Consulting. Achieving low CO2 emissions is essential if wanting to
achieve a highly rated Energy Performance Certificate. IES software that allows
the creation of EPCs is available since January 2008 and its users can become
Accredited Energy Assessors via the CIBSE LCC scheme, reveals the companys
press release.
Dr McLean, Founder and Managing Director of IES Ltd, comments: Examining
the building as an entire system can lead to more innovative and efficient
design solutions. Building performance is optimised through an iterative
process that involves all members of the design team right from the beginning,
and performance analysis software provides the tools that enable this. IES
has been working towards this goal since its inception, and provides this
capability to our customers. This vision is shared by the IPCC, the
America Institute of Architects and others, as demonstrated by the European
Performance of Buildings Directive and the 2030 Challenge, he says.
