Knauf Insulation, a leading
global manufacturer of thermal and acoustical insulations for residential,
commercial, industrial, OEM and metal building applications, recently announced
the launch of new Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board. Eclipse is the blackest
standard air duct board available on the market today. With visibility
minimized at venting points, Eclipse Air Duct Board allows the air duct system
to be less noticeable to building occupants.
Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is used in commercial and residential air
handling installations as a cost effective alternative to sheet metal systems.
It is designed for cooling, heating or dual-temperature service where thermal,
acoustical and condensation control are required. Acoustically Eclipse Air Duct
Board systems reduce noise generated by air turbulence and mechanical equipment,
reveals the companys press release. Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is GreenGuard
certified as a low emitting product for IAQ peace of mind.
Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is a UL listed rigid fiber glass board
faced on one side with a Foil-Scrim-Kraft (FSK) vapor retarder and with the new
black lightweight fiber glass mat on the airstream surface. Eclipse is
available in two stiffness valuesEI-475 and EI-800 and in thicknesses of 1, 1.5 and 2. Both types are available
with butt edge or factory molded male-female shiplap edges on all thicknesses.
It has a service temperature up to 250°F; air velocity at a maximum of 5000 fpm;
and a water vapor transmission rate of less than 0.02 perms. The airstream
surface of Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is treated with an EPA registered,
anti-microbial agent that prevents growth of mold, fungus or bacteria in
accordance with ASTM C1071, G21 and G22. |
