The attic of La Herrería, a building rehabilitated
by Cesar Portela and winner of the 2007 Aproin Award, receives light and is
ventilated through a combination of GPL top-hung roof
windows (S08 3373 model) and vertical and sloping elements GIL windows (S34 3373 model), mounted
in grids with Veluxs
joint sealing system, which ensures the installations absolute tightness.
Veluxs top-mount windows offer the ideal combination for an optimum
use of light and effective ventilation, while providing more space and an
unobstructed view from the inside, turning it into an attractive viewpoint, especially
in low-pitched roof areas. They feature Insulating Glazing, highly advisable
for north-oriented buildings due to their high resistance to the most adverse
climate conditions (4 mm
thermal film float inside glass + 16
mm chamber with Argon gas + 4 mm tempered outer glass).
The window is operated with a handle located at the sheets low part. Furthermore,
it features a working stem on the top that can be used to open and close the
ventilation blade allows for interior ventilation with the window closed- or
to guide the sheet 180°, making the cleaning of the outer glass easier from the
inside. According to the companys press release, in order to complete the
windows, some electric darkening curtains were installed in the sleeping rooms
and electric shading devices in the rest of the rooms. It includes a domotic
curtain management system, with Veluxs interface.
