Schüco, the worlds market leader in aluminium, steel, PVC-U and solar products for innovative building envelopes, has provided a photovoltaic system comprising modules and inverters, for a retirement village development. The Schüco system was designed as a free standing, ground mounted system by KN Renewable Energy, a member of the Schuco partner network.
Mayford Grange, a development in Surrey by Retirement Villages, has been fitted with a photovoltaic system from Schuco which will provide apartments with free electrical power throughout the year. The system incorporates 106x170Wp Schuco PV modules and 3 inverters which convert the DC current generated from sunlight into AC current.
According to the company, the Schüco PV modules were specified because of their efficiency in use. The whole system, including its structural design and framework, lightning protection and specialist relay protection, was installed and commissioned by KN Renewable Energy in two weeks. The system is expected to generate approximately 16,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per annum, offering a significant reduction in electricity bills for the owners of apartments at Mayford Grange. |
