Due to the strong business demand on the part of the
energy sector and the current expansion needs of the field of renewable
energies and energy efficiency, GENERA,
the International Energy and Environment Fair, which previously took place
biennially, will now be staged every year. According to the event's organizers,
its eleventh edition will take place between 26th and 28th February 2008 at Feria
de Madrid.
This decision is based on the good results achieved at
the last edition of GENERA, with the fair's exhibition doubling in size and
featuring the direct participation of some 280 companies. Furthermore, all expectations
regarding the number of trade visitors were surpassed, with some 12,842
professionals attending the event, which represented an increase of 81%
compared to the previous edition. The success that GENERA has
enjoyed reflects the development of an industry that presents numerous
opportunities in Spain,
thanks to growing levels of social and business awareness and, in particular,
due to a legislative framework that promotes its development. GENERA 2008 will
take place in Hall 12, one of the new halls that formed part of the expansion
project that IFEMA completed at the fairground this year.
GENERA will once again enjoy the institutional support of IDEA, the Institute
for Energy Saving and Diversification, with Enrique Jiménez Larrea, the
Institute's Managing Director, serving as the Chairman of the fair's Organising
Committee. The
fair will also enjoy the support and collaboration of the leading associations
and bodies connected to the energy industry. The
contents of GENERA 2008 will feature sectors such as solar energy (thermal and
photovoltaic), cogeneration, biomass, aeolic, hydraulic, waste products, hydrogen
and fuel battery, coal, gas, oil, and other energies.
