The Spanish Government, through the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, has appointed IDAE (Energy Diversity and Savings Institute) as the entity responsible for implementing awareness campaigns aimed at Spanish citizens and all social agents in the promotion of a sustainable and more efficient energy models.

This is the main goal of the publicity campaign (press, radio and television) launched under the title “Energy Savings, think about the future” which is a part of the Energy Efficiency Strategy Action Plan 2005-2007. Campaign activities focus on energy consumption peaks, such as summer for air conditioning systems and winter for heating, reveals the organization’s press release.

On the other hand, the Heating and Refrigeration Maintenance Professionals Association’s Federation (Amicyf), together with the Foundation for Quality and Innovation in Building Services (Funcaima), have also prepared with IDEA a training and awareness plan about energy savings and efficiency in thermal facilities, aimed at energy managers of Central State Administration and University buildings. According to Climanoticias, the plan includes the development of contents, support material and the delivery of seven courses 20 hours each in different parts of Spain during the months of June and July 2007.
