Runtal Radiadores, a company specializing in the design, manufacturing
and marketing of custom radiators, has won a contract to install a heating
system for Reina Sofía Foundations Alzheimer
Patient Center,
at Vallecas, Madrid. The center, with an area of 11,200 square meters,
is a pioneering project designed to provide health care to the patients, research
on the disease and training of volunteers, family members and health care
professionals. According to Construnario.net, total heating budget is approx. 55,000
euro.
Due to the Centers special layout, with a succession of patios, corridors and
rooms all glass walled, there was the need to fit radiators into a clean,
straight line environment. That is why Runtal models were chosen.
On the one hand, the choice fell on Runtal Radiavector, a base convector
radiador, with 350 units. This model is at top performance in this kind of
buildings as it prevents glass condensation in an effective way and reduces
considerably the cold wall effect so common in this kind of material. These
radiators include sets of horizontal welded flat tubes and fins available in
many sizes and allow for the installation of high capacity equipment in very
limited spaces.
The other model selected for this project is Runtal Jet-x, usually installed in
opaque walls as they fit in well with the radiador design, even with the
vertical model. It is made of ultra flat steel tubes, welded and autonomous,
without edges or corners, which makes cleaning easier due to is totally flat
structure. In the center there are ten units of this model.
