Tarragona, World Heritage Site and home
to the Centre of Technological Innovation in Heat Pumping and Refrigeration (CREVER),
will be hosting the 2nd
International Conference on Solar Air Conditioning on October 18th-19th,
2007, at the Palau Firal i Congresos.
According to Prof. Dr. Alberto Coronas,
Conference Chairman and CREVER representative, this
new edition of the International Conference on Solar Air Conditioning is the
result of the successful initiative that was undertaken in Bad Staffelstein, Germany, in
October 2005. Its goal is to make further advances in the use solar energy for
air conditioning applications by providing a meeting place for all professionals
involved in this field - engineers, architects, planners, among others , as the
use of solar air-conditioning systems is still extremely limited and a long way
from what would be desirable.
Recently, the European Parliament has agreed to ask the European Commission
to draft a European Directive to Promote Renewable Heating and Cooling. We trust
that in the near future these technologies will fully develop and consolidate
as an alternative to conventional technology, particularly as far as cost and
reliability are concerned, stated Prof. Dr.Coronas.
