The Spanish Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Companies
(Anefryc) applauded the
financial aid program for evaporative cooling towers and condensers announced
by the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN) and the Energy
Diversity and Savings Institute (IDAE).
According to Anefryc, the water cooling towers and evaporative condensers offer
an excellent return on investment compared to similar solutions, as they offer
both economic and energy savings to the Spanish productive system of up to 25,000
euro annually per installation. Thus, during a recent meeting of Anefryc and
ICAEN representatives of the association highlighted the need to offset the
false but widespread image of the dangerousness associated with water cooling
towers. The Catalan Energy Institute also agrees with this need and has
commited itself to launching a financial aid program, with an estimated
duration of one year, aiming at promoting the use of all equipments and systems
designed for the production of heat and cold which favour energy efficiency and
include evaporative cooling towers and condensers.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, through
IDAE, has developed 28 energy saving and efficiency measures to ensure minimum
performance levels in all sectors. Two of these measures establish financial
aid lines for the use of heating and cooling equipment which favour energy
efficiency, among which are evaporative cooling towers and condensers. The
financial aids cover up to 22% of the renovation costs, reveals the
associations press release.
