Uwe Glock has recently taken up his new post as president of Bosch Thermotechnik,
succeding Dr. Joachim Berner, who has held this position since October 1, 2003
and has been instrumental in successfully merging the heating technology
divisions of Bosch and Buderus.
A graduate in business studies, Glock began his career at Robert Bosch in
1984 with posts in sales and marketing within the Automotive Aftermarket
Department, management positions at the Technical Equipment Product Division,
and the Security Systems Product Division of Bosch Telecom. Since 2001 Glock
has been president of Bosch Sicherheitssysteme and has also been involved in
the field of security as the president of the Fair Advisory Board for SECURITY
and as the vice-president of the German Forum for Crime Prevention (DFK). He stated:
You could call me a home-grown Bosch product, so Im familiar with the
companys spirit, style and ethos, and Im looking forward to the new tasks in BoschThermotechnik.
BoschThermotechnik has become the market leader in the rapidly growing
market for electric heat pumps, and is also a leading manufacturer of solar
collectors for hot-water generation. The
company files many more patent applications than any other company in the
industry, covering almost all technical aspects of heating technology.
Inventions in the field of energy efficient thermotechnology are particularly
numerous. At present, around 20% of the industrial property rights held by Bosch
Thermotechnik relate to heating and hot water systems using renewable energy
sources, reveals the companys press release.
