Dri-Eaz Products, a provider of portable environmental control solutions and manufacturer of dehumidifiers among others, announced its new ceiling adapter kit, which expands function and boosts efficiency of the EB1400 environmental control unit.

By ducting the heat captured by the A/C circuit into a suspended or "false" ceiling, users can substantially increase the efficiency of the EB1400. The Ceiling Adapter Kit housings fit exactly inside the rails of any standard 24 × 24 inch or 24 × 48 inch suspended ceiling, holding the ducting firmly in place during operation. This setup is a highly effective way to configure the EB1400 where venting captured heat outside may not be practical, reveals the company’s press release.

The Ceiling Adapter Kit makes it easy to establish a neutral pressure setup with the EB1400, which optimizes performance and often a critical requirement in hospitals, remodels and other situations where controlling exfiltration is important. In the room being cooled, this setup also continuously filters the processed air to reduce the amount of airborne contaminates, and can even help to reduce noise levels. The Ceiling Adapter Kit comes complete with two rotomolded adapter housings, four 10-foot sections of 8-inch semi-rigid ducting and two cardboard masking panels. The ducting stores neatly inside the housings, making storage, transport and installation a snap.
