Embraco, a global leader
in high energy efficiency compressors based in Brazil,
is one of the seven winners of the Stars of Energy Efficiency, a significant
award given by the international organization Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) to those who promote energy efficiency on the
planet. Besides Embraco, other notable
names as Phillips Electronic and Rinnai Corp have received the acknowledgment.
This award, which will be
presented at the Alliances 16th annual Evening with the Stars of Energy
Efficiency black-tie gala and awards dinner on Thursday, September 25, at the
historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., is the second prize
achieved by Embraco VCC in 2008. At the beginning of the year, it was
considered one of the 10 best innovations in Brazil by the Monitor Group/Exame
research, for reducing up to 40% refrigerators and freezers energy consumption.
The
Embraco VCC gained notoriety since it was shown at the EE global show, first
energy efficiency global forum carried out at the end of 2007 at Washington,
reveals the companys press release.

Brazilian-based global organization, to receive such a prestigious award and
recognition of our efforts on energy-efficiency initiatives, said Embraco
President Ernesto Heinzelmann. VCC is just one of Embracos innovative
products working to advance energy efficiency in noteworthy and creative ways.
