Embraco, a global leader in high energy efficiency compressors based in Brazil, is one of the seven winners of the Stars of Energy Efficiency, a significant award given by the international organization Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) to those who promote energy efficiency on the planet. Besides Embraco, other notable names as Phillips Electronic and Rinnai Corp have received the acknowledgment.

This award, which will be presented at the Alliance’s 16th annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency black-tie gala and awards dinner on Thursday, September 25, at the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., is the second prize achieved by Embraco VCC in 2008. At the beginning of the year, it was considered one of the 10 best innovations in Brazil by the Monitor Group/Exame research, for reducing up to 40% refrigerators and freezers energy consumption. The Embraco VCC gained notoriety since it was shown at the EE global show, first energy efficiency global forum carried out at the end of 2007 at Washington, reveals the company’s press release.

“It's an honor for us, a Brazilian-based global organization, to receive such a prestigious award and recognition of our efforts on energy-efficiency initiatives,” said Embraco President Ernesto Heinzelmann. “VCC is just one of Embraco’s innovative products working to advance energy efficiency in noteworthy and creative ways.”
