The Husky Group, a leader in refrigeration in the UK for over 50
years, has recently announced its new DS5 Energy-Miser multi chiller, a
four-shelf, single door static cooler that comes with three brightly coloured
canopies (one already fitted): five a day for fruit and vegetables, fresh
salad and fresh flowers.
As well as providing dedicated prominence to these high margin products,
the Energy-Miser multi chiller prolongs the shelf life of fruit particularly
soft fruits such as strawberries and reduces dehydration for optimum flower
displays. Convenience retailing has moved away from general grocery sales into
impulse purchases notably food to go or immediate consumption. This requires
a more tailored offering than purely ambient and retailers who differentiate
their chilled products in individual displays are among the most successful,
said Geoff Thomasson, Chief Executive, Husky Group.
Every Energy-Miser chiller is Enhanced Capital Allowance-listed: a Government
scheme encouraging UK
businesses to reduce their carbon emissions. According to the companys press
release, Husky chillers are part of an exclusive range of energy-saving
products, allowing businesses to deduct 100% of first year capital allowance
against their taxable profits. The
range is also part of Huskys commitment to free disposal of old equipment in
like for like purchases. |
