A new company, IQ Refrigeration, has been
launched to offer a cutting edge design and project management consultancy
service for sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning solutions. The
company, based in East Grinstead (UK), is already working on a number of major
projects, including designs for carbon dioxide-based refrigeration solutions.
Heading up the
business is Jacquie Russell, the Managing Director of IQ Refrigeration, whose husband is the Managing Director of successful sister company, IQ Projects. Jacquie Russell said: There is a huge opportunity for
a company that can deliver practical, cost-effective environmentally
sustainable solutions. End users are searching for the next generation of
technology to future-proof their businesses against new legislation and
escalating energy costs. Nick Rivers, formerly with Sainsbury, has been
appointed Design Director and Roger Borer is the non-Executive Director, among
others. Bob Russell stated: With their knowledge and expertise, backed by the
logistical and project management capabilities of the IQ group, we believe we
have a winning formula that can deliver what the industry and end users are
looking for.
According to the companys press release, it sees a
major opportunity for the industry in relation to the impending phase-out of
R22 refrigerant, given the significant amount of R22-based plant still in use.
IQ Refrigeration is working on innovative approaches to plant replacement with
carbon dioxide-based systems. Nick Rivers says: It is not enough for cooling
technology to be green, it has to make business sense and deliver substantial
savings in running costs as well. We have the expertise to deliver in both of
these areas, and potentially transform both the carbon footprint and secure the
environmental credentials of end users. As for Roger Borer, he stated: We are
at a cross-road in terms of the industrys approach to technology and design. The
combined experience of IQ Refrigeration, backed by the resources of the IQ
group, is probably unique in the industry. |
