Daikin Europe, a leader in the air conditioning market, was awarded the European Ecolabel, which denotes products and services with high environmental performance. The company has received this certification due to the development of the residential heating solution Altherma that has a greater energy-efficiency and a smaller impact in global warming potential (GWP) than other heat pumps in the market. Thus, Daikin becomes the first in its sector to obtain the European Ecolabel.
The European Ecolabel recognizes the commitment of Daikin with the environment, and that has been materialized in the development of a product that fulfils all the environmental criteria evaluated by the European Union. Daikin Altherma efficiently extracts the low-level heat in the ambient air and raises it to temperatures capable of comfortably heating a house and providing domestic hot water in outdoor temperatures down to -20º C. In doing so, Daikin Altherma makes use of aero thermal energy, a renewable energy source.
In being awarded the EU Ecolabel, Daikin Altherma was assessed in a range of categories, such as heating and cooling efficiency, refrigerant global warming potential (GWP), noise, absence of RoHS substances, training, documentation, availability of spare parts and detailed information at point of sale. |
