Procter & Gamble starts conversion to DuPont ISCEON refrigerant PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 13 July 2009

P&GProcter & Gamble, one of the world’s largest producers in the ‘Fast Moving Consumer Goods’ sector, has started the phase out of ozone-depleting R-22 refrigerant, used in cooling installations at its production facilities in Warsaw, Poland. In its place, P&G has chosen DuPont™ ISCEON® MO29 (R-422D) refrigerant as the most efficient, environmentally-sustainable and economical alternative.

P&G’s modern production plant and distribution centre, located in the Warsaw district of Targówek, represents the company’s largest investment in Central and Eastern Europe. The plant’s flagship products are Pampers diapers, produced not only for the Polish and EU market, but also for more distant destinations such as the Lebanon, Taiwan or South Africa. Before the  retrofit, P&G’s Warsaw plant used R-22 refrigerant for its air-conditioning and process cooling systems. The initial conversion to ISCEON® MO29 involved the water-cooled water chiller systems.

“Acting as a pioneer for the phase out of  HCFC,  ISCEON® MO29 helps us to achieve sustainable goals and improve the environmental quality of production, while simultaneously saving both time and money,” comments Małgorzata Mejer, a spokesperson for P&G.

“A market leader in its own field, Procter & Gamble has demonstrated its leading position in the implementation of environmentally sustainable solutions,” adds Natalia Nalyvaiko, account manager at DuPont Refrigerants for Central and Easter Europe.
